Description

3h Whale Watching Catamaran in Costa Adeje

This fantastic excursion departs daily from Puerto Colón in Costa Adeje, Tenerife. The 3-hour catamaran tour sails each day, searching for whales and dolphins along the Costa Adeje coast.

The Experience

Pick-up is available from designated locations in select areas of Tenerife, including Golf del Sur, Los Gigantes, and the main south coast. Alternatively, you can choose to meet directly at Puerto Colón, in Costa Adeje.

Your 3-hour Catamaran excursion sets off from Puerto Colón, giving you the chance to enjoy one of the most popular experiences in Costa Adeje: whale and dolphin watching in their natural habitat. As the catamaran glides along the coastline, the knowledgeable crew will share interesting insights about the different species of cetaceans found in these waters, including their behaviours, feeding habits, and migration patterns.

Keep your eyes on the sea, as pilot whales, common bottlenose dolphins, and spotted dolphins often swim alongside the catamaran, sometimes close enough to feel like they’re saying hello! After experiencing these incredible animals, the journey continues toward the far west end of Costa Adeje, where the catamaran stops for you to relax. Here, you can sunbathe, enjoy a refreshing swim, take in the breathtaking coastal views, and savour a light lunch served on board.

At the end of the cruise, you’ll return to Puerto Colón. If you selected the transport option, you’ll be taken back to your designated drop-off point near your accommodation, leaving you relaxed and full of unforgettable memories from a magical day at sea.

You can't guarantee the weather! We booked the half-day trip to Mount Teide with Daniel in Los Cristianos, including the cable cars to the top. On the day it was raining and windy, so the cable car part was unfortunately cancelled. Back to kiosk for a refund when we returned and Mark couldn't have been more helpful. No quibbles, swiftly dealt with and the money was back in our account the following day. The trip was still very enjoyable and very informative. Definitely recommend.

Amazing experience We went at 9:30 since we heard that the animals are more active earlier in the day. The tour was almost private, there were five of us in total, including the captain which was very knowledge and nice. We had been sailing for probably 20 minutes when we saw some bottlenose dolphins and one of them even came up to the boat. As we continued we spotted a turtle but it disappeared rather quickly. Then we sailed to a known pilot whales area where we stopped for a while and spotted around 10 whales. Finally we sailed to a bay, on our way there we saw some more dolphins. There we stopped for drinks and sandwiches, stayed there for 30 minutes and then returned back, very happy with the amount of animals spotted.Side note: even though it's warm outside, make sure to bring something warm with you because it gets cold when sailing.
