La Gomera Island Tour from Tenerife

Discover the stunning island of La Gomera on this unforgettable full-day tour from Tenerife, featuring breathtaking landscapes, Garajonay National Park, traditional Canarian villages, local cuisine and return ferry travel with Fred. Olsen Express included.

Description

Discover the breathtaking beauty, culture and history of La Gomera on this unforgettable full-day excursion from Tenerife. Your adventure begins with pick-up from your selected meeting point before travelling to the Port of Los Cristianos, where you will board the comfortable Fred. Olsen Express ferry bound for San Sebastián de La Gomera, the island’s charming capital.

After arriving on the island, the tour continues along the scenic southern route with a stop at the impressive Roque de Agando, one of La Gomera’s most iconic volcanic rock formations. Rising dramatically from the landscape, this natural monument offers spectacular views and a fascinating glimpse into the island’s volcanic origins.

The journey then heads into the heart of Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its ancient laurel forests. Enjoy a peaceful walk surrounded by lush greenery and unique flora that dates back millions of years. This magical forest is one of the best-preserved examples of subtropical laurel forest in the world and offers a truly unforgettable connection with nature.

At lunchtime, you will visit the welcoming Las Rosas Restaurant, where you can enjoy a traditional Gomero lunch included in the price. Experience authentic island cuisine in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.

After lunch, discover the fascinating tradition of the Silbo Gomero, the island’s unique whistled language recognised by UNESCO. Used for centuries by locals to communicate across deep valleys, it remains one of La Gomera’s most treasured cultural traditions.

The tour continues through picturesque villages including Hermigua, known for its beautiful valley landscapes, banana plantations and vineyards, before reaching the stunning coastal village of Agulo. Often referred to as “the bonbon of La Gomera,” Agulo is famous for its cobbled streets, traditional Canarian houses and spectacular ocean views with Mount Teide visible in the distance.

Later, you will return to San Sebastián de La Gomera, a historic town closely linked to Christopher Columbus and his voyages to the New World. Explore its charming streets and discover historic landmarks such as the Torre del Conde, the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and Casa de la Aguada.

At the end of the day, you will board the ferry back to Tenerife and head back to your original pick-up point. During the crossing, keep an eye on the ocean as with a little luck, you may spot dolphins or pilot whales in the waters between the islands.

Wow! Fantastic experience :) What an experience is all I can say! Delighted to have chosen to do the jet skis through Tenerife First Excursions. Great to deal with and they offer really good prices. The jet ski company, Extreme Skis Tenerife whom we did the tour with had brand new jet skis and only 4 jet skis per tour which allowed for lots of room to have fun and to go fast! You get to stop off for a lovely swim too. They also take photos and send them to you afterwards without an added cost :) Will definitely book a future tour/activity with you guys. Thanks for a great time!

Respectful, passionate and full of knowledge Our captain ‘Guy’ was pleasantly crazy but very respectful to us and most of all the ocean’s wildlife. It seems to be a bit of a rat race of yachts and catamarans for the first sighting before heading off to snorkel. But we decided to take our time, minimize engine use and luckily saw a baby dolphin and some pilot whales, all from a distance safer to them. Guy told us a lot about the island, was extremely passionate about ocean life and our whole eco system. We went on the 4pm trip and were ready to come in, but would have loved a longer trip if budget and time allowed. Be mindful that you may not get a sighting and proactive about communicating what you’d really like out of your sailing.

Hele leuke ervaring. 8 walvissen gezien!
