La Gomera Island Tour from Tenerife

Discover the stunning island of La Gomera on this unforgettable full-day tour from Tenerife, featuring breathtaking landscapes, Garajonay National Park, traditional Canarian villages, local cuisine and return ferry travel with Fred. Olsen Express included.

Description

Discover the breathtaking beauty, culture and history of La Gomera on this unforgettable full-day excursion from Tenerife. Your adventure begins with pick-up from your selected meeting point before travelling to the Port of Los Cristianos, where you will board the comfortable Fred. Olsen Express ferry bound for San Sebastián de La Gomera, the island’s charming capital.

After arriving on the island, the tour continues along the scenic southern route with a stop at the impressive Roque de Agando, one of La Gomera’s most iconic volcanic rock formations. Rising dramatically from the landscape, this natural monument offers spectacular views and a fascinating glimpse into the island’s volcanic origins.

The journey then heads into the heart of Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its ancient laurel forests. Enjoy a peaceful walk surrounded by lush greenery and unique flora that dates back millions of years. This magical forest is one of the best-preserved examples of subtropical laurel forest in the world and offers a truly unforgettable connection with nature.

At lunchtime, you will visit the welcoming Las Rosas Restaurant, where you can enjoy a traditional Gomero lunch included in the price. Experience authentic island cuisine in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.

After lunch, discover the fascinating tradition of the Silbo Gomero, the island’s unique whistled language recognised by UNESCO. Used for centuries by locals to communicate across deep valleys, it remains one of La Gomera’s most treasured cultural traditions.

The tour continues through picturesque villages including Hermigua, known for its beautiful valley landscapes, banana plantations and vineyards, before reaching the stunning coastal village of Agulo. Often referred to as “the bonbon of La Gomera,” Agulo is famous for its cobbled streets, traditional Canarian houses and spectacular ocean views with Mount Teide visible in the distance.

Later, you will return to San Sebastián de La Gomera, a historic town closely linked to Christopher Columbus and his voyages to the New World. Explore its charming streets and discover historic landmarks such as the Torre del Conde, the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and Casa de la Aguada.

At the end of the day, you will board the ferry back to Tenerife and head back to your original pick-up point. During the crossing, keep an eye on the ocean as with a little luck, you may spot dolphins or pilot whales in the waters between the islands.

Fantastic excursions from a reliable company! Being our first and maybe only family holiday, we wanted to pack a few excursions in. Sarah from First Tenerife was more than helpful in organising our trip. From Teide to parasailing Sarah organised everything and delivered our tickets and info etc to our hotel on the day of our arrival. In total we did snorkelling, parasailing, Siam and loro parque and a Teide tour with cable car. We were offered a discount from standard prices for bulk booking which was nice. Unfortunately on the day of the teide tour the cable car wasn’t running due to high winds but we were promptly refunded. Overall the relevant activities seemed to be staffed by competent, professional and friendly people. We would not hesitate to use these guys again if we ever return to Tenerife. Thanks for everything

Amazing The yacht trip was amazing and totally worth it. Patrick was so friendly from the start and very knowledgable on the dolphins and whales. Patrick provided us with drinks (soft and alcoholic) throughout the trip, as well as preparing lunch. Given the opportunity to jump off the boat and swim at one of the local beaches. Overall very luxurious experience for an amazing price - would definitely recommend

Amazing boat trip This was such a lovely boat ride! Patrick was an amazing guide and super pleasant to be around. We saw pilot whales and a few turtles. The boat does go quite slow, so something to keep in mind if you get sea sick easily as it was very bumpy!
